Access to Work is a UK government grant that helps disabled and neurodivergent people stay in work, and it can cover the cost of ADHD coaching.
It’s not a loan. You don’t have to pay it back. And it’s there specifically for people like you.

Do I need a diagnosis to apply?
No, you don’t need a diagnosis to apply.
What funding is available?
Support is usually allocated to you, out of a grant of up to £66,000 per person, per year. If an ADHD coach is granted to you, then you may be asked to provide 3 quotes and they usually go with the lowest one.
Who can apply for ATW?
You can apply for Access to Work if you are over 16, are in a paid job, including self-employed, and have a health condition or disability. You must also live and work in England, Scotland or Wales.
How is the support funded?
Depending on what support is awarded to you, employers may be asked to contribute money towards costs (like equipment). In the majority of cases, Access to Work will cover all of your costs (for example with ADHD coaching).
You or your employer usually pay the costs first, and then claim them back.
What support can it cover?
Access to Work can cover funding for a variety of things, like workplace equipment, software, travel costs, ADHD coaching, admin support, and more…
Do I need to tell my employer?
Yes, if you’re employed, you should inform your employer as they will need to confirm your working status. Your employer will not be involved in the assessment itself.
